Homeless Count 2016 Update

We canvassed 100% of the South Bay during the "Street Count" portion of the Count.  Thank you to all who participated on January 27th.  Results from the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA) will be available in late spring.  We will be publishing our "City 1-pagers" showing the results at a community level and the changes from
2015's Homeless Count.

Winter Shelter Programs (WSP)

Winter Shelter Programs are now open across Los Angeles County.  With the threat of a strong El Nino-backed rainy winter, the City and County of Los Angeles have increased their funding for these seasonal programs to have them open one month earlier (November) and stay operational an additional month (closing March 31, 2016). They will be open 24-hours those days when it is raining.

There are two SPA 8/South Bay WSP:
  • Inglewood, a 100-bed program at the Inglewood Armory, operated by First To Serve.  Flyer in English or Spanish
  • Long Beach, a 169-bed program, operated and located at the Long Beach Rescue Mission.  Flyer in English or Spanish

Information on all WSP can be found at the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority's website.
