South Bay "Direct Service" Provider Agencies: Housing

1736 Family Crisis Center operates domestic violence shelters, a youth shelter, 24-hour crisis hotlines, and community resource centers offering veterans services, mental health counseling, job development/placement, financial literacy, legal assistance, and outreach/education.

Alliance for Housing and Healing provides essential permanent housing and supportive services to people living in poverty with HIV/AIDS or other challenging health conditions. We use housing as a structural intervention against the spread of AIDS and as a platform for healthcare.

Divinity Prophet helps to prevent potential homelessness of youth exiting the Foster System by providing transitional housing, supportive services and fundamental reentry assistance.

Family Promise is a community-based approach to solving homelessness experienced by families, engaging both the local community as well as houses of faith to provide emergency shelter.  Guests receive a full complement of resources, support and training as they work towards their own stability and self-reliance.​

Harbor Interfaith Services empowers the homeless and working poor to achieve self-sufficiency by providing support services including emergency shelter, transitional housing, permanent supportive housing, food, job placement, advocacy, childcare, education and life-skills training.

Help Me Help You is dedicated to uplifting homeless and low income families and individuals by increasing access to food, public benefits, economic security, and affordable housing. Our work reduces hunger and poverty, improves nutrition and health, and boost family economic security.

WIN (What I Need) is a free mobile and web app designed to help homeless or resource insecure youth ages 12-25 locate essential services that are accessible without a referral (most are free). Developed by Our Children LA with guidance from Los Angeles area unaccompanied youth, it lists food, shelter, health/mental health, education, crisis support, hotlines, drop in centers, transportation, legal assistance, jobs supports and government benefits.

LAHSA is the lead agency in the Los Angeles Continuum of Care, which is the regional planning body that coordinates housing and services for homeless families and individuals in Los Angeles County. LAHSA coordinates and manages over $90 million dollars annually in Federal, State, County and City funds for programs that provide shelter, housing and services to homeless persons in Los Angeles City and County.

The Corporation for Supportive Housing is a national organization with a mission to assist communities create permanent supportive housing (PSH) and other affordable housing. It does not own nor operate any housing, but rather serves as an intermediary to connect and work with partners (housing developers, lenders, community groups, elected officials, etc.) in the development of these types of projects.
